Raceday Parking


No parking is available in or around Jackson Park. There are a limited number of spaces available at the Museum of Science & Industry (57th St. & Lake Shore Drive) for $14. The parking garage is approximately 1.1 miles to the start/finish lines. 
 
Street parking is available around the area and in the neighborhoods. However, any vehicle parked on the race route will be towed at the owners expense.  Please be aware of where you are parking.

We highly encourage participants and spectators to take public transportation to and from the race. If you drive, please plan to leave enough time to find a parking spot. We are not responsible for participants who drive and do not make the start of the race.

There is limited parking at or near Jackson Park.
 There are nearly 1,400 spaces in the Museum of Science & Industry parking garage along with parking along the Midway Plaisance. We highly encourage participants and spectators to take public transportation to and from the race.  If you drive, please plan to leave enough time to find a parking spot. We are not responsible for participants who drive and do not make the start of the race.


PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Metra

Metra is a great, easy way to get to and from the event on Raceday for only $7. The Electric Line from Millennium Station (on Michigan between Randolph & South Water) services the Jackson Park area, stopping at 63rd Street, 0.2 miles from the start line. There are four trains that are ideal for race participants, along with two other regularly scheduled trains that run service prior to the start of the Chicago Half Marathon. Please pre-purchase your tickets. Each train has limited capacity and they will SELL OUT!
 
The following are train departure times from Millennium Station. METRA has added additional trains to accommodate race participants. 

  • Train #8303: Leaves Millennium Station at 5:00 AM and arrives at 5:18 AM to the 63rd Street stop. 
  • Race Train #1:Leaves Millennium Station at 6:10 AM and arrives at 6:28 AM to the 63rd Street stop 
  • Race Train #2: Leaves Millennium Station at 6:20 AM and arrives at 6:38 AM to the 63rd Street stop.
  • Train #803: Leaves Millennium Station at 6:30 AM and arrives at 6:48 AM to the 63rd Street stop.
  • Race Train #3: Leaves Millennium Station at 6:40 AM and arrives at 6:58 AM to the 63rd Street stop.
  • Train #8305: Leaves Millennium Station at 7:00 AM and arrives at 7:18 AM to 63rd Street stop.  This is the last chance train from Millennium Station and is great option for spectators.
  • Train #805 (Spectator Train): Leaves Millennium Station at 8:30 AM and arrives at 8:48 AM to 63rd Street stop. 
  • Train #802 (if you are coming from the South Side): Arrives at 63rd Street stop at 6:37 AM.
  • Return Trip Schedule to Millennium Station
  • Train #804: Leaves 63rd Street at 8:37 AM.
  • Race Train: Leaves 63rd Street at 9:30 AM.  
  • Train #8306: Leaves 63rd Street at 10:07 AM.
  • Train #806: Leaves 63rd Street at 10:37 AM.
  • Train #8308: Leaves 63rd Street at 12:07 PM.

South Shore Line
If you're coming from Northwest Indiana, the South Shore Line also offers a great, easy way to get to the race and also leaves you a short 1.4 mile walk to the start line or you can take one of the shuttles waiting for you. You will take the (Train #600) and will arrive at 57th Street Stop at 6:37 AM.  For more information on the South Shore Line, click here.
 
Hotel and Downtown Shuttle
The shuttle system will also be running from three convenient stops around the downtown area. The shuttles will leave each stop at 6:00 AM and will arrive at Jackson Park by 6:45 AM. Roundtrip tickets are needed to ride the shuttle and can be purchased for $10. All tickets must be pre-purchased and are purchased for a specific pickup location.

- Grant Park, Millennium Park garages (Best location for downtown hotel guests)

Shuttles will have two separate departure times, 10:15 AM and 11:15 AM. You may ride either time back to your hotel, but we will not offer a later time if you miss one of these shuttles.
